As the 18th World Congress on Information Technology gets set for its first ever World Tech Jam – a massive 72-hour, online international brainstorming session in June – CareerMash will be stirring up excitement among Canadian students about the global digital revolution with its CareerMash Youth Tech Jam special events taking place in April through June, concluding with an essay contest where high school students can win a trip to Montreal to attend the WCIT conference.

CareerMash Youth Tech Jam events and online activities will inspire students to dream and share their ideas on the many ways the global digital revolution will impact our collective future.

To enter the CareerMash Youth Tech Jam contest and win a trip to WCIT in Montreal, tell us in a one-page, single-spaced essay how you see technology helping the world solve a pressing issue. Pick any issue that moves you from the following five areas and give it your creative best:

All contest entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on June 30, 2012. CareerMash will select one winner and one runner-up. Both the winner and runner-up will be awarded round-trip airfare to Montreal, accommodations for themselves and a chaperone as well as a free pass to WCIT from October 22-24, 2012 (worth up to $1500).

The one contest winner will also be a featured panelist on WCIT’s Global Young Innovators Panel to present his or her essay to some of the world’s top employers in the technology industry. This is a great opportunity to build your professional profile and network before you even enter the workforce! You’ll also have the on-site mentorship of 19-year-old powerhouse for all things tech, Genevieve Vanderveldt-L’Esperance of GENinc TV.
